about Owen
I live in Bristol working as a cinematographer on natural history documentaries. My skillset is broad; stretching from motion control and high speed to set building and lighting, whilst refining my skills around the style of macro camerawork.
Alongside freelancing as a camera assistant, I spent the earlier years in my career working part-time at Farm Studio as a studio/camera assistant, helping many shows and production companies achieve realistic studio-shot wildlife and nature sequences, whilst working alongside some of the industry’s best cinematographers.
In recent years, I’ve been working as a main cinematographer on macro sequences for Silverback, Wildspace, Plimsoll and the BBC. I was lucky enough to be a part of the camera team for the BBC’s multi-award winning series The Green Planet, using groundbreaking motion control camera rigs to help bring the stories of plant behaviour to life.
